My previous research centered on acute and chronic liver disease, with a particular focus on identifying and characterizing biomarkers of liver fibrosis in both animal models and human samples. Building on this experience, I have recently joined the Linkermann group, where the central interest lies in the molecular mechanisms of acute kidney injury. In this field, I am particularly fascinated by regulated forms of necrosis such as necroptosis and ferroptosis, which play pivotal roles in kidney injury, nephron loss, and progression to chronic kidney disease. By combining my background in biomarker discovery with the study of cell death pathways, I aim to contribute to a deeper understanding of how these processes drive disease and support the scientific experiments in the lab with my laboratory and organizational skills.
