Informations- und Networkingevent mit dem Schwerpunkt Innovation und Industrie für junge Wissenschaftler*innen an der UMM
Die School of Translational Medicine, Dachorganisation für Nachwuchswissenschaftler*innen an der Medizinischen Fakultät Mannheim, richtet im März die Industry and Innovation Days aus.
Masterstudierende, Doktorand*innen sowie junge Postdocs und klinische Forscher*innen aus dem gesamten Spektrum der Gesundheitswissenschaften (Biowissenschaften, Medizintechnik, Psychologie, Medizin und mehr) sind eingeladen, sich mit lokalen Start-ups, Fachleuten aus der Industrie und anderen Bereichen auszutauschen und zu vernetzen. Neben spannenden Vorträgen, Informationen zu Karriereperspektiven und Insiderinfos aus verschiedenen Berufsfeldern, gibt es Programmpunkte zum Präsentieren, Netzwerken und Unternehmertum.
Nach „Crafting Tomorrow: The Art and Science of Entrepreneurial Innovation“ von Georg Fischer, Coach und Unternehmer, werden die Teilnehmer*innen direkt in die Sitzung "Starting up from Science" einsteigen, in der drei Jungunternehmer*innen uns mit auf ihren persönlichen Weg von eigener Idee bis Markeinführung nehmen.
Beim ‚Resources Lunch‘ können Teilnehmer*innen ihre Pitch- und Networking-Skills üben und sich mit den Referenten und den lokalen Netzwerken für Wissenschaft, Innovation und Start-ups austauschen.
Der Nachmittag startet mit Colin Bennetts (Flames a Mile High) „Believe! The Psychology of Persuasive Presentations“. Anschließend werden Fachleute aus der Industrie, aus Kliniken und aus dem akademischen Bereich über ihre Karrierewege berichten und darüber, wie Ideen durch translationale Forschung erfolgreich in praktische Anwendungen umgewandelt werden.
Wir werden den Tag mit weiteren Gelegenheiten zum Networking bei Kaffee und Snacks ausklingen lassen.

Information and networking event focussed on innovation and industry for young scientists at the UMM
The Industry & Innovation Days – an annual event organised by the School of Translational Medicine, the umbrella organization for young scientists at the Medical Faculty Mannheim - are dedicated to careers in industry and elsewhere as well as to networking.
Master and doctoral students as well as young postdocs and clinical researchers from the health science continuum (life sciences, medical technology, psychology, medicine and more) are invited to interact and network with local start-ups, pharma industry professionals and entrepreneurs. In addition to exciting presentations, information on career perspectives and insider information from various professional fields, the agenda includes presenting, networking and entrepreneurship skills.
After ‘Crafting Tomorrow: The Art and Science of Entrepreneurial Innovation’ by Georg Fischer, coach and entrepreneur, the participants will jump straight into the session ‘Starting up from Science’, in which three young entrepreneurs will take us on their personal journey of bringing their own idea to the market. During lunch participants can practice their newly gained pitching and networking skills with the speakers and the local science, innovation and start-up networks.
The afternoon will start with Colin Bennett's (Flames a Mile High) ‘Believe! The Psychology of Persuasive Presentations’. Right after, experts from industry, clinics and academia will talk about their career paths and how they are making an impact by translating research into practical applications.
We will wrap up our day with more opportunities for networking during coffee and snacks.
